School administrators weigh in on the effect the game Fortnite is having on young students at school. You may be surprised to learn how dangerous video game addiction can be.
I was a teacher before video games. Television has the exact effect.

Thanks for sharing but I think the title of this is incorrect and the speaker has missed the mark for the most part. It should be “The Dangers of Not Parenting Your Child”. If your school aged kid is up after midnight doing ANYTHING they are going to have issues at school. If you let your kid consistently obsess about anything they are going to have issues with other areas of their life. Teach kids moderation and self control. In my opinion, blaming video games exclusively is a scapegoat. They tried it in 90s and after the research came in the findings were not blaming video games, it was more about how the kids were being raised. Like life in general, moderation is the key to happiness.

You don’t always know what your children are doing, especially if they are staying with friends or even family.
I was unable to listen to this. I am not sure why it wouldn’t play. Will try again! Thank you for what you do!

Hi Teresa, Dr. Ray’s admin here. I tested the link and the audio worked for me. It may be the way your computer or device is set up. There is another post on Dr. Ray’s Facebook page that is the text of the letter that the 5th grade teacher wrote. If you go to his Facebook page and scroll down to the post on Sept. 6th, you should find it. I hope that helps. God bless, Katie
