The positive parenting method sounds sweet, kind and enlightened. But does it work in the real world with real children? We explore what the parenting experts say and reveal the most effective discipline methods.
It will be interesting / scary to see how these children mature into adults. As parents, our job is to prepare our children to navigate the world. So…down the road when these kids are adults and don’t want to do their jobs, do they honestly think their bosses will be positive and explain and coddle them out of fear of their self esteem being hurt? Heck no! They’ll say do it now, do it right, or see yourself out the door. These kids who are never given any criticism or “negative” feedback won’t have the coping skills to handle it! This modern parenting is truly terrifying.

We already see the consequences. Twenty years ago in the navy, the officers would often sit at lunch groaning over our latest discipline cases. Young sailors, seriously messing up, but utterly unwilling to follow orders or take direction to fix things. “Didn’t get spanked enough as a child,” would often be the exasperated conclusion.
And now one of our local school districts has banned staff from saying “no” or “stop”, I guess because nobody was enforcing it, anyways.
In *totally* unrelated news, did anyone notice that the last three mass murders were by men upset that women told them “no”?
